I didn’t start to feel excited for this trip until I started packing. I realized our group made no plans at all on what sites to see, which restaurant to eat, among others. We simply ignored the fact that the only planned tour we had was the Underground River Tour. So, after packing, I turned my laptop on and did some intensive research.
We had different flight schedules, but thankfully, Cebu Pacific changed them and placed all 6 of us in one trip. We were all exhausted during the plane ride because most of us did not have enough sleep. One of us was a call center agent who got off work at around 7am. We met at the airport around 9:30 am, and arrived in Palawan at 11:30 am.
Upon arriving, our next itinerary was the Honday Bay Tour, which I will discuss in my next post. For now, let me share our affordable accommodation in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
Josefina’s Pension Review
One of the cheapest places to stay in Puerto Princesa is Josefina’s Pension. Initially, I was afraid that Josefina’s Pension would be so bad, we have to look for other places to stay. Imagine how relieved I was so see how new & clean the place was. In fact, it was better than other hotels I have tried in Cebu.
Upon check in at Josefina’s Pension, we were given a really pretty necklace as a welcome gift. It made us so happy since Cebu Hotels don’t normally do these kind of gestures. We really appreciated the surprise!
Our room was a family room, good for 4 people. But since there were 6 of us, they had to add two foam beds. The foam beds were thick and very comfortable. The sheets were also clean and good-smelling, totally opposite from what I expected (my expectations were pretty low). They provided each of us some towels and toiletries – shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush. Most importantly, the air conditioners decreased the room temperature really fast. By this time, we were already very impressed!
Their staff was nothing short of friendly. There were only few sockets in the room, and they were enough for 6 people with at least two low-battery cellular phones each. I asked their staff if they could give us extra extension wires, and they immediately responded with a “yes, we’ll try to find one for you.” Awesome people!
